"Get Stuff Done Fast" is my personal motto that I tell all my audiences and clients. In my life and business, I always focus on shortening the time from idea to action. I'm not saying to that you do not want to do research or put out quality content; however, you have to take action. For example, if I wouldn't have conducted my first boot camp years ago for 12 people in the basement of the Gold Coast hotel, we would not be here today. Believe me, if I wouldn't have had the boot camp because of the leaking toilet and the cheap screen, the little transparency screen kept falling over on people, we would not be sitting here today.
I just did it. I also did not think to dress professionally. It was hot. I knew the participants, so I taught in shorts and a T-shirt, but good enough is good enough. I showed up at the Gold Coast that day and shared them my information. From there, the boot camp attendance grew from 12 to 15 and then, from 15 it went to 22. I remember I had 25 people in a room, and I was like, "Gosh darn, this is amazing. I cannot believe they want to come and learn from me." Then, we increased attendance to 70 some and then went to over 100. Recently, we had over 750 registered attendees, so that is how it all started.
Imagine if I sat around and said, "Yea but I don't have a certification to operate a boot camp." I'd have held myself back, and worst of all, I'd have held my clients back, too.
* Invest in learning from mentors.
Realistically, think it over. In every sport or after school activity, your team got ahead by the leadership of your coach. You may have had some talent, or perhaps you even had a lot of talent, but until your coach trained you to maximize your potential, you may not have done as well. The same rule applies in the business world. We can't do everything by ourselves. We can't rely on friends. Do you know why you can't rely on friends? Because friends don't want to hurt your feelings, and your friends might not be well versed, trained, or experienced in what you need for your business.
As soon as you invest in a coach, your earnings will only increase to the extent that you do. If your knowledge level about a topic is here, and you would like your income level to be there, it can't. It's incongruent. You need to raise this factor to raise this factor. If you would like to go more, you have to grow more. Got it? Good. You never stop learning. I think it was Tony Robbins who coined it CANEI which is Constant and Never Ending Improvement. I'm always investing in myself.
